Free Legal Aid
If you feel that your rights have been violated by compulsory unionism, or have a question about your rights under a compulsory unionism arrangement, you are welcome to fill out the Free Legal Aid request form linked here.
Your inquiry must be related to issues such as compulsory union membership or compulsory dues payments, union violence against workers, forced union dues used for politics, decertification or deauthorization elections, and abuses of exclusive hiring halls. We do not provide legal assistance to employees on any other employment-related matters, such as non-compete clauses, employment at will, general employment discrimination (such as employment discrimination based upon age, race or disabilities) or general questions about internal union affairs for voluntary union members.
If your request is potentially within the scope of our litigation program, a Foundation staff attorney or legal assistant will contact you as soon as possible. There is no charge for this service, and any information you send to us seeking legal aid will be kept strictly confidential. If your inquiry is urgent, you might wish to call us on our toll-free line (800-336-3600).
†You should use only your personal e-mail address. The use of someone else’s email address or your employer-provided e-mail address may be deemed to waive confidentiality.
